DS-260 Immigrant Visa Application & Alien Registration Application Available Online

As of September 3, 2013, individuals must file an immigrant petition with the Department of State. Form DS-260, Online Immigrant Visa Application & Alien Registration and the online DS-261 Choice of Address and Agent which replaced the paper-based DS-230 and DS-3032 respectively.

The DS-260 and DS-261 are fully integrated online electronic visa application forms used to collect the necessary application information. Applicants must now complete and submit these forms online to the Department of State via the internet through the Consular Electronic Applications Center (CEAC). You can check the status of your visa application, pay certain fees online, and submit the application via the Department of State’s website, CEAC available at https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/
