Family-Based Immigration Law
Effective today, the Secretary of Homeland Security has announced that they will begin accepting renewal applications for Deferred Action of Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. Individuals may apply for DACA renewal if:
- the initial DACA individual was previously enrolled in the program and their deferral authorization is expiring within the next four months;
- the individual has not departed the United States on or after August 12, 2012 (only with permission- advance parole);
- has been residing in the U.S. since the approval of the first DACA;
- has not been convicted of a felony or significant misdemeanor or three or more misdemeanors and don’t pose a threat to national security or public safety.
The DACA program defers removal action against an individual who meets certain requirements. To learn more about DACA, DACA renewal process, or if you have general questions, please call The Ponce Law Office at (972)863-1446.
